Who the fuck is Rachel Darke?

Under construction, I don't know what I'm doing with this yet.. It'll be nice eventually. Honest. :P

I have been working collaboratively with a small scope of artists over the past two years, and hope to be able to show and explain them as time goes on.

CECI interaction in Birmingham City Centre, 2008.

My work is based around various aspects of psychology and symbolism within the arts, currently focusing upon the works of Carl Jung and his concept of the 'shadow', the third form of human nature that deals with the darker, instinctive and animalistic side of ourselves. Alongside this work, I also branch out to work with other artists as a volunteer for groups such as aas and CECI.

Over the Summer, CECI collaborated with SharedTable to host the closing party of Flux-fest with Flux-feast, held at Vivid in Birmingham.

'SharedTable invited you to experience a spectacular Fluxfood event on Wednesday 9 July. FluxFeast attempted to undermine the monumentality of art through the use of food. In true Fluxus-DIY style, VIVID and SharedTable asked you to propose a recipe to challenge the senses! The winning recipe was re-created and served at the banquet.'

Reinactment of George Brecht's Drip music at Flux-Feast, 2008.

Home Live Art's Alternative Village Fete:

'The traditional village green is reimagined for the modern age; the world of Morris Dancing, cake stalls and vegetable competitions with an eccentric urban twist. Featuring Barby Asante, Bob & Roberta Smith, The Bollywood Brass Band, The Fete Encounter, Friends of the Earth, I Knit London, Rediscovered Urban Rituals, Shane Waltener, Vauxhall City Farm, Wild Hunt Bedlam Morris, The Society of Wonders plus food & produce stalls and much, much more....'

I'll flesh this out a bit more later, at the moment I'm just too tired...

Excellent.

So this is a new blog created by me to begin documenting artworks that I'm involved in.. As well as perhaps generally documenting events and the like.

This is a temporary message, there'll be something better later.

Hi!
